![]() Use the bumpers to raise the arms (and hopefully whatever they’re carrying) into the air. Hold the triggers to have the corresponding right or left arm grip what’s in front of them. But hey, it’s better than nothing.Ībout now, you’re probably wondering what the point of playing is? The game sounds kind of cute, but also too easy, right? Well, Totally Reliable Delivery Service adds challenge through Gang Beast like controls and floppy character physics. A shop would have at least let me save up for items I wanted to buy. I didn’t really find these prizes necessary, as Totally Reliable Delivery Service has plenty of quirky options from the beginning. Instead, money is treated as ongoing milestones, with new character customization pieces and vehicles dished out for hitting certain amounts. Weirdly, there’s nowhere to actually spend it. Money is rewarded based on speed and how well the parcel survives the journey. Okay, fine, maybe I’ll be a little careful. I can drive, sail, fly, or fling the package out a cannon, for all they care. Luckily, there are no rules on how it gets there. While some are within jogging distance, others would love their ice cubes, explosives, or whatever else to arrive at a flying blimp. Each one simply requests that their package be delivered from point A to B. Red mailboxes are littered across a small island, signifying the start of missions. Joking aside, we’re looking at an open-world sandbox with a focus on playing postman. All in a day’s work for a postman working at Totally Reliable Delivery Service. Failure could result in death, but I’m the only one on this island brave enough to deliver the goods. ![]() After that, I’ll paraglide with one hand - the other keeping hold of our cargo at all costs. Roads are full of vents waiting to blast my vehicle off course. Package received, the clock’s ticking, and a rough journey awaits. The Little Mermaid, directed by Rob Marshall, opens in theaters nationwide on May 26, 2023.Dawn brings a new mission. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. The Little Mermaid is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Art Malik as Sir Grimsby, Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. Getting your character stuck inside objects is an annoyingly regular occurrence, and it’s particularly aggravating when it happens at critical moments – like when you’re just about to offload a delivery inches away from a drop-off point and your foot falls through the flatbed of your truck, leaving you to feebly flail back and forth like one of those inflatable men out front of a used car yard as the clock continues to tick.Ĭheck out the teaser trailer for The Little Mermaid, the upcoming live-action reimagining of the animated musical classic. But while Totally Reliable Delivery Service’s pool noodle character limbs and exaggerated physics conspire to create no shortage of laughs, it all seems a bit too slapdash beyond the slapstick. Elsewhere, the delivery that required a motorised launcher to sling large fish into the upper deck of an air traffic control tower was as hilariously absurd as it sounds. I particularly enjoyed the urgency of the bomb disposal requests – literal TNT Express jobs – where the slightest jolts had explosive repercussions. However, an inherently tipsy sense of equilibrium and a blobby body shape means that even the most straightforward tasks quickly spiral into silliness as you struggle to shunt a fragile box into the back of a delivery van without inadvertently reducing it into a pile of packing peanuts. There are a number of different vehicles to help ship your consignments, from forklifts and speedboats to helicopters and hang gliders, as well as a solid variety of different delivery types. “Each character’s right and left hand grips are controlled by the corresponding trigger buttons, and these same basic interactions are employed to carry boxes, grab other players, or manipulate the physical controls of vehicles and other machinery.
